C-STOP WIPES with the highest coverage in market comparison

A study conducted in February 2026 by Knieler & Team GmbH and published in the journal Hygiene & Medicine (Vol. 51, Issue 5/2026, pp. 102–103) standardised a comparison of the surface performance of eight ready-to-use disinfection wipes. Result: at 2.0 m² per wipe, C-STOP WIPES achieve more than double the coverage of low-alcohol competitors and the best balance of efficacy, handling properties and cost-efficiency.

    Top performer of the study

At 2.0 m²/wipe, C-STOP WIPES achieve the highest coverage of all eight tested products – up to 2.8 m² in the manual application test.

    Aqueous instead of alcohol

The study confirms: aqueous solutions plus maximised liquid load significantly increase surface performance compared to low-alcohol wipes (< 1 m²).

    Bio-based wipe + full efficacy

The only product combining a bio wipe base, virucidal and sporicidal efficacy against C. difficile, and excellent handling properties.

    Background

Why new disinfection wipes are needed

In Europe, stricter testing rules for disinfectants have been in place for some time – especially for highly resistant pathogens like spores (e.g. Clostridioides). Many previously used disinfection wipes no longer meet these requirements.

Mild H₂O₂ wipes (up to 2%)

Pleasant to use, but not strong enough to meet the new requirements.

    Peracetic acid products

Highly effective, but strong-smelling and therefore not suitable for daily use.

    High-conc. H₂O₂ (5–7%)

Effective, but stressful for skin and airways and often only usable with additional protective equipment.

The solution: C-STOP WIPES – the 1-wipe concept

One wipe. One step. Maximum safety.

One wipe for daily use and outbreaks – no switching needed
High efficacy even against highly resistant pathogens
Significantly more pleasant than aggressive alternatives
    Suitable for daily use
    Innovative, patent-pending formulation
Plastic-free wipes made from renewable raw materials

    Fewer sources of error

    Simpler training

    Higher application safety

    More time for what matters

    Application areas

    Areas of application

Confirmed by the EU Commission: For surface disinfection in the patient-near environment – including surfaces of medical devices such as bed frames – so-called multipurpose disinfectants must be used. C-STOP WIPES fall under the Biocidal Products Regulation as a Multipurpose Disinfectant.

    Patient beds

    Examination couches

    Door handles

    Handrails

    Toilets

    Washbasins

    Typical application examples

Treatment couches (synthetic leather), armrests, shelves
Blood pressure cuffs (exterior), stethoscopes (exterior), pulse oximeters (exterior)
ECG cables (exterior), defi/AED housings, monitors & controls
Ultrasound devices: housing & control panel
Door handles, light switches, work surfaces
Equipment trolleys, tray and shelf surfaces, cabinet and drawer handles

    Fields of application

For disinfection of "high touch" surfaces, also suitable in the patient-near environment (e.g. bedside tables, bed frames) and secured by biocide status.

    Application

Remove all visible contamination before disinfection. Take a fresh wipe, only use moist wipes, wet surfaces completely, observe contact times. Use within 28 days after opening.

    Terminal disinfection

C-STOP WIPES are suitable for terminal disinfection of a patient room, ambulance, etc. after a patient change.

    Future Standard

Why sporicidal bio wipes are becoming the new standard

    Sporicidal efficacy meets sustainable application

Sporicidal bio wipes – the new standard in surface disinfection with C-STOP WIPES

C-STOP WIPES represent a new generation of sporicidal disinfection wipes: highly effective against critical pathogens such as C.diff. – yet user-friendly, resource-saving and ecologically considered. As a sporicidal bio wipe, they combine maximum hygienic safety with a modern sustainability standard. In sensitive areas, what counts today is not only whether a surface is safely disinfected, but also how efficiently, in a controlled manner and with environmental awareness this process is carried out.

Even active ingredient release instead of distribution gradients

Conventional wipes can absorb and release the active ingredient unevenly – too much at the start, too little later on. C-STOP WIPES release the active ingredient evenly and in a controlled manner onto the surface. This increases process safety and reduces the risk of under- or overdosing.

    More coverage per wipe

Optimised uptake and release of the active ingredient enable high surface coverage per wipe – fewer wipes per application, less waste, lower costs and more efficiency in daily use. Especially in hospitals, care facilities, pharmacies, laboratories and cleanrooms, sporicidal surface disinfection becomes significantly more economical and predictable.

    More ecological disinfection

Bio wipes make an important contribution to greater sustainability because they reduce material use and apply the active ingredient more efficiently. Instead of using large quantities of poorly biodegradable single-use materials, C-STOP WIPES rely on a future-proof wipe concept with a better ecological perspective.

C-STOP WIPES show that sporicidal disinfection no longer has to be harsh, aggressive or wasteful.
