Description Clean Card® PRO - Abrasion test for quick verification and effectiveness proof of proper cleaning.
Preparation:
First fill fresh drinking water (cold or room temperature) or aqua dest. into the plastic vial included in the package. Close the vial with the spray head. This should be emptied -if necessary e.g. daily-, rinsed out and refilled.
Test procedure in detail:
- Remove a test card from the pouch. Be careful not to touch the perforated yellow part of the test card with your fingers.
- Moisten the area to be tested (surface/object) by spraying it lightly with water two to three times. DO NOT moisten the Clean Card itself !
- Rub the entire moistened area vigorously with the Clean Card for about 10 seconds, pressing the perforated part of the test card firmly onto the surface. Ideally, draw some circles or zigzag movements. The test card should absorb all the moisture.
- The color change will have reacted after 30 seconds. Compare the color with the color comparison chart (model chart) or, if necessary, your own Clean Card tests as references for various cleaning or disinfectant residues.
- Spray the water only on the surface to be tested - never directly on the test card.
- Surface: The test area should ideally have a size of approx. 10 cm x 10 cm.
- Angular objects or corners and transitions: Fold the test unit so that the perforated test field with the reagent carrier comes into contact with the test area. The 10 x 10 cm rule does not have to be applied in all cases.
- Use the Clean Card only once. A used test will not provide reliable detection.
Evaluation:
A color change in only one of the circles is sufficient evidence of a contaminated surface. The final definition of the degree of cleanliness is up to the user. Decide whether the surface is optimally clean for your requirements, or borderline or unacceptable. A weakly positive result may well be sufficient. The subsequent reaction / measure results from the specific blue coloration and question. In the case of intensive and large-area reactions, the measure is called post-cleaning and or, in the case of weak and low reactions, post-rinsing/post-wiping.
A color change without contamination/residue on the surface is not observed.
Method:
The Clean Card® PRO is a protein test. It reacts to protein amounts from approx. 25 µg / 100 cm². The darker the blue of the color circle on the reagent pad, the more protein was detected. The yellow test pad reacts with protein residues and protein-like partial structures such as those found in the form of the cationic ammonium or the amino compounds in many surfactants of cleaning agents, or also in the form of the quaternary ammonium compounds (QAV) in many disinfectants or combination products. Some anionic residues of detergents and disinfectants can also cause a color change.
Also, if allergens may be present, post-cleaning or post-rinsing should be performed if the blue coloration is weak.
Advantages:
- Keep/store test cards at room temperature (18-25°C). Store in a dry place and do not expose to direct sunlight.
- Store in a dry place and do not expose to direct sunlight.
- Long shelf life of approx. 1 year
- Can be disposed of with residual waste
- Requires no additional equipment or chemicals - only water to moisten the cleaned surface to be checked
The Clean Card® PRO:
- uncomplicated to perform hygiene indicator test
- Immediate assessment and optimization of cleaning effectiveness
- Detection of cleaning deficits and weak points
