To prevent cross-contamination, ensure good germ removal in the washing process.

The germs usually contained in the laundry itself, such as E.coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans or even the mold Aspergillus niger, or e.g. noroviruses are resistant, and require certain high temperatures and the appropriate detergents (bleaching agents) or the right combination of both (temperature plus detergent) to kill them.
Inside the washing machine itself, in all water-bearing areas, there is a biofilm matrix consisting of Extracellular Polymeric Substances (EPS). This harbors microorganisms in different risk classes.
Higher health risks include bacteria that may be present in washing machine biofilms, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Burkholderia cepacia complex, Staphylococcus aureus, Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, Serratia marcescens, or fungi and spores such as Trichosporon spp. The composition of the biofilm and EPS also depends on the location and environmental conditions.

With each wash cycle, the germs and residues from the "background" are flushed along with the wash in the drum, and new germs subsequently multiply again in the biofilm matrix. Therefore, a deep cleaning is recommended at regular intervals.

So the decisive criterion for hygienic cleanliness is not the visually spotless drum, but what is behind the washing drum, right up to the sump pump and the drain hoses. Metal and rubber parts are cleaned of the typical lime-grease dirt which, together with the damp environment of the machine, promotes germ formation and, as a result, unpleasant odors.

Advantages and properties of the amfora washing machine deep cleaner:

But it is not only the biofilm, which is particularly favored in the "household machine" by low washing temperatures, short washing programs, the use of gentle liquid detergents and fabric softener more than in a commercial washing machine, that prevents a hygienically perfect washing result. Limescale and other deposits also provide an ideal breeding ground for germs, which must be removed regularly.
A porous lime surface is also an excellent breeding ground for germ growth. Lime on heating elements also leads to increased energy consumption and wear.
The deposits from detergent residues and the washed-out dirt and grease from the laundry together with dissolved textile and color particles adhere particularly well here.

Dosage

1 liter of high concentrate for 1 application

Application

Empty the 1000 ml round bottle directly into the laundry drum (filling weight 6 kg).
Start the washing program (main wash cycle) without pre-wash at 60°C.
Do NOT add any laundry or detergent -> empty wash cycle !
Let the washing program run through 60°C and pump off afterwards.

Frequency of use

Depends on the frequency of use / number of washes.
We recommend deep cleaning every 3-4 months.

Ingredients

According to Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents:
Aqua, DL-malic acid, monosodium citrate, citric acid, aluminum citrate hydroxy complexes, sodium sulfate, alkyl ether carboxylic acid, fatty alcohol alkoxylate.
Contains < 5% anionic surfactants
Biodegradable: according to (EC) No. 648/2004, the surfactants contained meet the required degradability within 28 days.

Tip:

Do not forget to manually clean the lint filter, all seals, drum window and detergent feed ! After washing, allow machine to dry with doors and drawers open.

IMPORTANT:

Please also note that some energy-efficient machines often do not reach this temperature at a set 60°C - program or not long enough, and often only work with about 40°C to 55°C warm water and also lower rinse water quantity. Although this makes the laundry visually clean, it promotes deposits in the machine - and the laundry is usually not germ-free.
